Nordic Open Preschool
Nordic Open Preschool (ages 0-4)
~ Program description: In this program, babies and young children (ages 0-4 ) bond with their caregivers while immersing in Nordic languages. Each session includes songs, arts & crafts or other sensory play possibilities as well as opportunities for free play. Activities provided in each meet-up depend on the theme of the session, provided by the teacher.
The caregivers attend the lessons with their children, bonding and creating learning experiences together. In addition, caregivers meet others in similar life situations and have a chance to connect and exhange thoughts about learning, parenting, activities around the Bay Area etc.
The doors are open between 10:00 and 11:45 am with a circle time around 10:30 am. Come play whenever you're ready. There will be fika (coffee and something sweet) served for all and you are welcome to bring a snack or lunch for you and your child.
There are no language requirements for caregivers accompanying the attending children.

Finnish Open Preschool for ages 0-4
~ Description: In this program, students experience the Finnish language and culture in a fun and playful environment. Each lesson is focused on a certain theme organized by the teacher, and includes story time, songs, arts & crafts and other activities that support building positive links to Finnish language and culture as well as encourages practicing new vocabulary.
The caregivers attend the lessons with their children, bonding and creating language learning experiences together.
There will be coffee and light snacks served for all and you are welcome to bring a lunch for you and your child.
There are no Finnish language requirements for caregivers accompanying the attending children.
Class will meet twice a month, generally every other week, 9 times in the fall, 10 times in the spring.

This program receives a grant annually from Suomi-Seura Finland for all of its students. The grant covers for some of the program costs, and is accounted in the program prizing.
Classes are limited to 10 children per class and will be filled in the order of registration.
A minimum of 4 participants are required for the classes to be organized.

~ Class description: Babies and toddlers (ages 0-4 ) bond with their caregivers while learning Swedish language rhymes, songs, and games. The classes are held in a fun and playful environment where your child can explore toys and books in the play areas, as well as at stations set up with different activities, like arts & crafts and sensory play for experiential language learning. Circle time will be held at 11 am.
There will be a simple fika (cookies or cinnamon buns for example, with juice and coffee) and of course you can always bring your own food or snack for your child or yourself if you prefer.
The doors are open between 10:00 and 11:45, so don't feel stressed if you can't get out the door with the little ones and be there exactly at 10 am, just come play whenever you're ready.
There are no Swedish language requirements for caregivers accompanying the attending children.
