Join us in a fantastic "Finnophile" printmaking workshop with Finnish American artist Kristine Holohan.
The first part of the dynamic workshop will present a fun discovery of folk art and printmaking traditions in Finland - often similar to other Nordic countries. We discuss the origins of Finnish design, art, architecture, and print - and explore how the local design expanded into a global phenomenom- with Marimekko as our example.
Part two of our workshop will be a hands-on guided session where you create your own prints through linoleum carved printing and silk screen techniques. Each participant will leave with unique handmade prints on paper and textiles - inspired by Nordic roots.
This workshop is ideal for participants 18 and older. A ticket can be purchased for youth 14-17 when attending with a ticket holding adult.
