Swedish Language Program ages 13-15 Wednesdays 2023-2024 (Virtual)

Day/time: Wednesdays 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Dates: August 23, 2023 - June 5, 2024  

Fall semester 8/23/23-12/13/23. Spring semester 1/10/24-6/5/24.

Cost: 

- $610 for the school year 2023-2024. This is the fee for children who have at least one parent with Swedish citizenship. We receive a stipend from the Swedish government agency Skolverket and this is their requirements for awarding the stipend.

- $995 for the school year 2023-2024. This is the fee for children who do not have at least one parent with Swedish citizenship.

Swedish instructor: Anna-Karin Brazee

Class description: This online course is for students who want to keep developing their Swedish language skills also when their school work starts to take more time. We will be working to improve both writing skills and reading comprehension, as well as gaining a stronger confidence in the spoken language. We are following the plan of Svenska Skolverket and the goal is to lay a foundation for possible studies in Sweden. The students have the possibility to combine this class with Sofia Distans studies and will then receive guidance (handledning) within the frame of the course.

About the instructor: Anna-Karin Brazee recently moved to San Francisco from Switzerland where she taught at Svenska Skolan in Zurich. Her professional background is in art management, and she has worked with theater and opera in Sweden and France. Anna-Karin is now studying to become a language teacher with focus on multilingualism and second language learning.
